Labour Relations

The Board hears applications and complaints by employers, employees and unions on matters such as: 

  • the certification of unions and determination of bargaining units;
  • revocation of certification orders; 
  • the union’s duty to represent  employees fairly;
  • rights and obligations relating  to bargaining units when businesses are sold or merged;
  • unfair labour practices by employers and unions; 
  • services required to be maintained during a strike or a lockout; and
  • illegal strikes or lockouts.
